Hello Weekend! Hello Spring! We’ve had some lovely sunshine-y days lately and it’s finally starting to feel like the cold is on its way out. I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for warmer days. I miss our garden. I miss our braais. I miss drinking wine in the sun with my people. We have quite a busy weekend ahead… beer and live music at a brewery tonight, a baby shower and a braai tomorrow and lunch in Franschhoek on Sunday. Bring it all on! I’ll sleep in my next life. And with that, I’ll leave you with a “have a happy weekend” and here are our top 5 faves.

1.Pizza and Wine Dates

We’ve gotten into a bit of a pizza and red wine date night habit which is both good and bad. Good for the taste buds and date night vibes but bad for the waist and general healthy living vibes we try to stick to during the week. It’s just too easy to get home and order a pizza and smash back a glass or 2 of wine. This pizza was flipping delicious – it’s the red rocket from Butlers (thin base, half mozzarella, bacon, red pesto, feta and rocket). It’s from their new “lite” pizza range. Less carbs, more wine.

I’m really into my Kiehl’s skincare routine now and I just can’t get enough of the Midnight Recovery Oil. It is my favourite thing at the moment. Girls – do whatever you can to get your hands on a bottle of this magic. You won’t look back.

3.The Dish by Stella Newman

I love reading. I probably don’t get to read as often as I’d like to but when the mood hits, it hits hard. I LOVED this book. Stella Newman has actually re-launched “The Dish” as “A foodie’s guide to falling in love” and I was instantly hooked. I read it in a few days and was actually quite sad when it ended. Do you ever feel like that when you get to the last page of a book you’ve really, really enjoyed? If you love a feel good read that’s packed with food, a sweet little romance and lots of laugh out loud moments, then you will love this book.

YAY for Spring.

5.NuVeg Veggies

We have been trying out a bunch of veggies from NuVeg and so far, so good. I can’t tell you how good it feels to be able to grab a portion of cauli, spinach or butternut after a long day without the fuss of cooking from scratch. A full post will be up shortly so check back if you’re interested. Otherwise look out for NuVeg frozen veggies in stores now. Weeknight cooking can’t get easier.

And there you have it. A collection of our top 5 faves to end the week.

Have a happy weekend!
