Durbanville Hills has done it again. There’s not much that they’re not good at to be honest. Wine – check. Food – check. Views – check. And now you can also add a fun safari to the list. We joined them for their cool new Durbanville Hills Table Mountain Experience and we had the most amazing adventure.
The Durbanville Hills Table Mountain Experience combines nature and wine and is unlike anything we have ever done before. It is a one of a kind outing that takes you to parts of Table Mountain that the general public cannot get to.
We headed out to the Table Mountain cableway early one Saturday morning where we spent the next few hours getting up close and personal with the mountain and the delicious range of wines from Durbanville Hills – all from the comfort of our super-cool safari ride.
The historic route started at the cableway where we met our tour guide, Henri. After a quick introduction, we hopped into the back of the vehicle (best seats as they are the highest with the best views) and off we went. All along the slopes of Devils Peak with breathtaking views of Table Bay, Lions Head and the Cape Peninsula. Every so often, Henri pulled our eyes away from the views, and pointed out the rich indigenous plants and flowers, the historical Malay burial sites and King George and two block houses that were used as early lookout-points.
When we reached what felt like the top of the mountain, we stopped and set up a little wine-tasting camp – complete with comfy chairs, snacks and never ending views. It was the BEST!
We knew we were in for a treat but never imagined it would be as incredible as it was. If there is one thing you need to do in Cape Town, it is the Durbanville Hills Table Mountain Experience. It ticks all the boxes – adventure, affordability, beauty, nature, fun, wine, views – it is something we will remember forever.
